Columbus Technical College and the CIS department are sponsoring another Lan-Party event for the popular gaming community. Our events are open to the public and are usually sponsored by popular gaming and computer manufacturers. We will provide the infrastructure and the connection for a ethernet LAN gaming environment. We will provide the network cabling and the DHCP routing needed to play the most popular online games available. We will host at least two of the games for tournament puposes but you are welcome to run your own game server and host your own games among the LAN. We ask though that you do not run the same game server that we are providing as this causes confusion when playijng a tournament. The games we presently are hosing are Unreal 2004 Tournament and Call of Duty and we are looking at either Counterstrike or Battlefield 1942 soon. We will provide patches and updates for the games we are sponsoring but ask that you try to allready have them installed. Also you must have a legitimate copy of the game you are playing as there will be no file sharing or disc copying allowed. Tournament prizes will be awarded when we are sponsored and you must be present to win. A copy of the rules will also be posted.

     Laggers Beware…

Very Important !!!

Due to difficulties in the past with power and space issues we ask that you only bring one computer per player unless we are contacted and approved otherwise. We will have some computers available for players that show up and do not have a system with them and we will set time limits on those so that there are no campers and everyone gets a chance to play and have fun. If you have an extra system you would like to bring and setup for some of the community to use we would greatly appreciate this charity and it will help us in our exposure with the event. Also please do not bring any computers running DHCP we have limited resources and time and cannot reconfigure our network so that we can get an individual computer up and running when the rest of the network is working fine. All computers should have thier network settings set on DHCP and we will provide a static address for everyone to download updates and patches from a special server that we will have set up. All computers should also be taken out of any domains and put into a workgroup called "workgroup" prior to the event this will help expedite your connection to the lan. If there are any questions please forward them to us and we will be happy to discuss them. lets make this a happy event.

We have moved back to the Library Building Rm. 615

I will have Lan-Party "Another D@#! LAN " signs out.

"PLEASE NO DRINKS OR FOOD IN THE ROOMS"

We will have access to the break room for food and beverages.

8:00 a.m .

Doors open to the public and main entrance will be the back of the college as that entrance is the most logical when entering with Computers and gear. We will have signs up and it will be clearly marked. We are using a different classroom than the one before so please look for the signs.

This event will be charged for Tournament Players a little differently. There will be a $7:00 charge for refreshments and drinks for lunch. So far everyone has been happy with Pizza and sodas the way we have thrown them before. Half of the charge will be going toward equipment to support these events. After this event we will be working with Columbus Technical College Foundation and the other half will go toward scholarships and school activities. We do not plan the cover charge ever getting above a $10:00 limit. By working with the foundation it will enable future events to continue and last longer. We have been endorsed with overnight activites as well as two-day events in the future. We will not be able to have any drinks or or food in the new classrooms as they are newly renovated. There is a break area down the hall and I will have ice chests and ice available for your storage of food and drinks that you may bring.

Servers will be setup and running and entrants will be able to get updated patches and connections as soon as they connect to the provided switch.

 8:30 a.m.

Official gaming starting time and announcements as well as thanks to sponsors.

12:00 p.m. MIDNITE

Close doors officially and and begin cleaning up the area. We play hard but we also must clean and organize hard otherwise the school will not let us do this again. We have to be out of the building by midnite. So I appreciate all the help I can clenaing up and getting the room back to the state that it was in so that classes can begin in earnest the following monday. This is extremely important as the school is watching us and our behavious reflects on whether they will continue to sponsor us for these events. SO I encourage all of you hard core gamers who attend to please help us when the time is needed. exit building.
